Jamie McDonald joined Network for Good after the acquisition of GiveCorps, which she founded and launched in 2011. Her professional mission is to spur people to give, act and innovate on behalf of communities and causes. She writes and speaks about online engagement and giving, next generation philanthropy and the rise of giving movements as a force for changing communities. In 2013, McDonald led “BMore Gives More,” the movement that raised $5.7 million in a day on Giving Tuesday and earned Baltimore the #MostGenerousCity in America” honor. In 2014, she served as lead advisor to MD Nonprofits’ “MD Gives More” campaign that raised $9.2 million on #GivingTuesday. In 2015, McDonald guided nearly 60 communities around the country on civic campaigns for #GivingTuesday, in her role as Head of Civic Campaigns for 92Y, the founders of the movement. She spoke at the launch of American Philanthropy, the Smithsonian Museum of American History's new permanent collection on philanthropy. McDonald serves as an advisor to nonprofits, cities, states and schools around the country on online giving and generosity movements like #GivingTuesday. She serves on the boards of OneBaltimore, Open Society Institute, Impact Hub Baltimore, Venture for America, Johns Hopkins Social Innovation Lab and #MarylandGivesMore.
